Read the why
The score is built from six parts with fixed weights: the nutrition statement, the guaranteed analysis, the ingredients, additives, the maker and recall history. Each part shows the label facts behind it.
Make it about your pet
Add your dog’s or cat’s age, allergies and health conditions. Each food is checked for allergens and life stage, separately from its score. It flags phosphorus for kidney disease and fat for pancreatitis or weight management; other conditions you list get a reminder to ask your vet. When a health condition is involved, talk to your vet.
